Understand Your Energy Drink!

Finishing up my 1st CSS course … but I thought it would be good to post this seeing as football season is right around the corner. 

Caffeine is widely known to enhance performance and many athletes utilize energy drinks for the performance and energy boost. However, often times energy drinks can contain not only banned, but sometimes harmful ingredients. I recently read a great article,, by Amy Eichner, Ph.D. and Erin Hannan. It was distributed by ACSM’s Sports Medicine Bulletin and highlights several important factors to consider when choosing an energy drink. I highly recommend reading it for anyone that is considering using energy drinks, especially if participating in athletics.
